Grant for Over 65'S and Permanently Disabled PersonsWho Can Apply?1. Parishioners Aged 65 and OverAnyone aged 65 and over* is able to claim a grant towards the cost of their television licence from Bracknell Town Council provided:
* Any pensioner who is eligible for a grant and who is or is shortly to be 75, will receive a grant proportional to the number of months to be paid until the qualification date for a free licence.
2. Disabled PersonsAny householder or sharing a household with someone who is permanently disabled, is in receipt of an appropriation pension, is not in full-time employment and not living in the same household as others in full-time employment, and living within the Bracknell Parish boundary. (Disabled persons living in sheltered accommodation may also be eligible for the £5 scheme).
IMPORTANT: If you think you qualify for the grant, you must purchase your licence before you apply, using one of the options listed below.Grant payments will be made by personal cheque. Cheques are not transferable, and the person to whom they are issued towards the cost of a television licence may only use them.

How to Apply for a TV GrantIn order to apply you should complete an application form and present this together with the following documents:
Applications should be made in person, if possible, to our office at Brooke House which is situated in the High Street, opposite the main entrance to Bentalls Department Store. All enquiries and applications for this scheme are dealt with at the Reception Desk on the first floor. A chair lift is available if you have difficulty using stairs, or a member of staff can come downstairs if you prefer. If you are unable to attend Brooke House, you should ask someone who could on your behalf. If you have difficulty in completing the form for any reason, a member of staff will be pleased to help you. TV Grant applications are dealt with between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. Friday.
How to Apply If You Have Not Had A Licence BeforeIf you have not had a television licence before and therefore have no renewal licence from the National Television Licence Records Office, you should still make application. Proof that you meet the residency requirement (see paragraph 1) will be required. A tenancy book or a year old utility bill will suffice.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A SCHEME OPERATED ONLY BY BRACKNELL TOWN COUNCIL. RESIDENTS LIVING IN WARFIELD, WINKFIELD, BINFIELD, CROWTHORNE AND SANDHURST DO NOT QUALIFY. THE SCHEME IS PAID FOR OUT OF THAT PART OF THE COUNCIL TAX WHICH IS COLLECTED ON BEHALF OF BRACKNELL TOWN COUNCIL. |
